Obama elegantly attempts to ratchet back racial heat

Whether or not you agree with his policies, our President is a class act.

Listen to the President take over today's press conference below.

  1. You and I both know this is bullshit dave. In an attempt to divert media attention from his intensly flawed healthcare plan, BHO made a very unintelligent and uninformed comment about the Gates arrest. Here you are giving him credit for being a smooth talker yet not commenting at all as to why he has to dig himself out of this in the first place. I THINK YOU JUST CROSSED THE LINE!

  2. Yes, yes. Obama purposefully answered an engineered question by Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times. That way he could distract us with a race fight, and we wouldn't pay any attention to the healthcare bill. If he wanted to distract from the attention from the, (according to Republicans) "dead in the water" healthcare bill, why did he try and put the focus back on the healthcare fight?

  3. Does not a president screen questions before they are asked? You are too in love with his sweet talking to call him out for his foolish comment on the Gates event. He turned a local event into a national one and insinuated that a fine police officer is a racist without knowing all the facts.

  4. He said in his comments that he wasn't sure whether or not race played a part in the arrest, but he felt the police acted "stupidly" by arresting someone after they had figured out that was Gates' residence. At no point did Obama imply that Crowley was a racist. But I concede that he should not have waded with specifics. I still think his larger point that both probably overreacted is the truth.
